July 15th 2021: Message from Rev. Fr. Francis P Xavier SJ

Dear Friends,

Greetings. I am happy to know that the US Chapter is creating a website of its own. Website is the window to showcase what we are and what we do. It is, perhaps, from this window we let our light shine. Website also becomes a connecting link in our networking with the rest of our friends and of the world. I wish the US Chapter all the best.

Whenever we think of our alumni/ae abroad, we appreciate and admire them for their courage and hard work. Their success today is built upon the foundation of wellbeing, looking for greener pasture. And once we cross over the other side of the opportunity river, we could think of others who might need a helping hand to reach us. We might have been for them a light-house beckoning them to move up in life and society. This is a Jesuit value of walking together and growing together – that way we could build a better world for all to live together.

As Loyola College is striving to become Loyola University, let us hope that we celebrate the centenary of Loyola in 2025 as Loyola University. Our concerted efforts would bring forth the desired fruits. I wish you all the very best in life.

May joy fill your heart now and always.

With kind regards,

Rev. Fr. Francis P Xavier, SJ

July 7th 2021: Message from Rev. Dr. Thomas Amirtham SJ

Dear Alumni of Loyola, USA,

Greetings to you all!

It gives me immense joy to reach you all through this online platform. Loyola Alumni Association USA, in many ways, has been a pathfinder. You are the first Loyola Alumni Chapter to open a website. It gives me immense joy see the dynamic nature of your chapter as well as the website. I am confident that this website will enable you to stay in touch with all the alumni of Loyola campus to stay connected and stay united.

The purpose of Loyola Alumni Association (LAA) is to connect people and facilitate networking. LAA aims to strengthen our bonding and provide platforms for all of us to celebrate our belonging to the legacy of Jesuit Education. 2021 is an important year for Jesuits. We Jesuits call this year an Ignatian year because this year marks the 500th anniversary of Ignatius conversion. It was in 1521 an ardent soldier, who wanted capture earthly kingdoms, transforms into a passionate pilgrim in search of God. It is this pilgrim who laid the foundation for the Jesuit Religious order in 1540. I am happy to note that this new website is launched on Ignatian year. It is wish and prayer that this website helps us to come closer to each other and come to recognize the inner calling of each other. Our union with one another should enable us to reach our full potentials and should impel us to move beyond the narrow walls of race, religion, nation and ethnicity.

Loyola Website aims to achieve this and each one of you can play a critical role in making it a reality. Each one of you is richly blessed with expertise, energy and goodwill and when all these are synergized, the outcome will be phenomenal for each one of you as well as to the Loyola family. Come friends let us rewrite the history of alumni association by our active engagement. Let us be the ambassador of love, hope and compassion.

Stay Blessed,

Rev. Dr. Thomas Amirtham SJ
